How do we discern how God is calling us to fulfill his mission in the world? Do we adjust our vocations during different seasons of life? Jerry Organ, Professor of Law and Co-Director for Ethical Leadership in the Professions at the University of St. Thomas will share his thoughts and insights drawing on his experiences trying to be faithful to God’s call over four decades of his life as a spouse, parent, son, sibling, friend, volunteer and professor.
Jerome M. Organ, a Wisconsin native, is a distinguished educator and legal scholar. After earning his law degree from the Vanderbilt University Law School, where he was an editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review, he clerked for the Wisconsin Supreme Court before practicing litigation and environmental law at Foley & Lardner. In 1991, he transitioned to academia, teaching law at the University of Missouri-Columbia for 10 years before becoming a founding faculty member at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2001. Recognized for his excellence in teaching, Organ is deeply committed to integrating professional skills and values into legal education. As Co-Director of the Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership, he has been a national leader in generating data on law student well-being and in advancing professional identity formation across law schools.
